how right i was,

that the lack of blog updates had seen us thru the various events that i last mentioned in my previous post… march had been another not so easy month for us, especially when melody was admitted to the hospital due to UTI…

poor melody was having high fever for a few days before we decided that its not those ordinary teething kind of fever, and sent her to the KKH and once again, she was admitted…

and this stay, landed us 4 days, with melody being ‘poked’ all over her limbs for the blood test and administer of antibiotics… that poking part, took more than 45 minutes in the treatment room, with us outside, hearing her screams and cries… helplessly…

nevertheless, she recovered, and no more fever… but was given tubes of antibiotic to last her till may before her follow up… and i really meant tubes of antibiotics…

that event, totally brought me downright depressed for being a parent… and i had to share to all of the fact that, behind every smiling happy child, there’re the tired and exhausted parents… so, love and treasure your parents, it not easy being one…

anyway, i think all who visited my facebook, should already seen the photos that i took of megan’s first homework… but hey, i rarely got a chance to take out my dslr to ‘fire’ away, and so got to bear with my trigger happy fingers eh? and here it goes again…

as for melody, she is growing well, and had more teeth and starting to stand with support…

this photo here is a little outdated, cuz now she got 4 teeth!

despite the tiredness and exhaustion, i really love these kids of mine cuz they type of joy they had given me is something that i never had before…

but then again, it will be better if parenting can be easier… haiz… :P

  1. Hi.. came to your blog when read TheAsiaParents post. You have 2 cute and pretty princesses. :) and your blog is nice, I like it.
I have 2 princes, they are 3yo and 9months plus as well.. think almost the same age as your princesses.. haha.. maybe one day they can be friends. may I know your elder gal study at which playgroup or kindergarten? her artwork is nice and creative.. my just start his playgroup begin this year.
N i read your latest blog, knowing that your young princess was admitted to hospital for UTI infection. Great that she is recover now. My baby boy was admitted to KKH for UTI infection as well on Jan this year. He already went for his first follow up which is an ultra scan for his kidney. But after that follow up, the doc told us there will be another follow up which is 3 months down the road to check whether his kidney got any "scar". And for this test he need to go for DMSA screening. For this screening he need to have fasting for almost 4hrs and put him on sedation 30mins ahead before the screening. I m kinda worry for the sedation as he is just abt 1yo by then. I would like to ask you, do you know that is this a must follow up or not necessary and do u know how many follow up do the kid need to take. Thanks in advance. :)

  4. Dear Kelly,
Thanks for the visit. I must say, u got the toughest job on earth for being a SAHM!

Megan is currently studying at ADO Playhouse but the childcare center was recently acquired by another organisation, but they are maintaining the school name and teachers.

Gosh, sorry to hear that your boy was admitted to KKH for the same UTI infection and hope all is well for you and your family.

Melody's follow up was on May, hence we're not sure what we are in for... however, i do read about sedation but it was only needed if baby couldn't stay still on the scan... which i'm pretty sure Melody wouldn't stay still... and like you, i'm kinda very much oppose the idea of sedation...

I think follow up is necessary cuz babies below 1 year old are very prompt to virus attack and their organs are not fully developed and hence, extra care has to be taken.

Then again, if there's too many follow ups, i may want KKH to reduce the number of follow ups... hope i dun need to go to that point...

Hope your boy has a speedy recovery.

  5. Hi.. thanks for replying. :)
For your info, I was posted my UTI question on Today's Motherhood FB fan page, n there is 2 mothers answer saying that after ultra sound scan if everything is ok, there is not a necessary going for the DMSA test after 3 months. Their bb also below 1 yr old at that time.
Give plenty of water for your gal to drink n clean her immediately after poo poo. :)
