stemcord certification

yo, we gotten the lab results from stemcord confirming that megan's cord blood is banked successfully without contamination... that would meant a confirmation to fork out $250 annually for the next 21 years to store megan's cord blood with stemcord le... oh well, 70 cents per day... still manageable lah...

back to the lab results... most of the maternal blood results are negative, which is good news of course... except for this particular one that says CMV IgG... it is explained in the lab result that CMV is a virus that is a common infection in the young and 50% - 80% of general population are CMV IgG positive... the virus is spread from person-to-person via saliva to breast milk... there is no treatment, and there is no cause to be alarmed...

ok, i guess its pretty alright then, and as i read on, it also says it causes a mild flu-like infection... flu infection... so does it meant that joelle and megan are both more prompt to flu? i think i also have CMV then... cuz i'm prompt to flu infection too... recalling the last LOK family flu infection, megan first, joelle second, then me... kaoz... i guess the LOKs better start stocking up on vitamin-C...

it comes with a certification too...

some may say it seems like wasting money to store... i used to think so too, but changes my attitude when we're having megan... i guess, being parent changes something in me... :P

anyway, as the saying goes: better to have condom when don't need it, than not to have condom when need it...
